Space for Nature to Thrive

Malta has the highest proportion of built-up land in the European Union. We believe that for MEF to reach its mission, we must think beyond the anthropocentric boundary between urban and rural. We must protect and conserve the nature we have, regenerate the nature we have lost, and ensure biodiversity has a space to flourish within our towns and cities.

Whether through researching Malta’s ecosystem needs, or by greening our roads, roofs or buildings, we want to encourage nature to interlace around the country. And with it, nature’s many ecosystem services that safeguard our mental and physical health.
